Description: This creative writing course is suitable for those with advanced projects on the way towards first draft completion.

Course Outline: In a warm, fun and inspiring environment, we will continue to strive towards the major milestone of completing the first draft of your novel. Given that you started this course in January 2022, I feel this will be the most satisfying and natural goal to achieve - completion by year end.

Each week I will critique more of your work, as a group we will discuss and read-out our latest pieces, and also discuss a particular aspect of writing to ensure your skills and inspiration remain refreshed and engaged. Throughout this process, the nuts and bolts of the creative process will naturally be revisited, thus ensuring you produce your best writing possible.

Key strategy: With the ‘Keep That Momentum Going 2’ course ending on 21st July and this course commencing 1st September, the five week break should hopefully allow for 10,000-15,000 words to be written (2,000-3,000 words per week), thus giving you a great heardstart and propulsion into the 12 weeks of this course.

At the end of this course, my aim is for you all to have completed your first draft. And with hard work (plus doubtless many laughs along the way), there is no reason why that should not be achievable.

Are there any course requirements? Yes, you’ll need basic written English skills to benefit from it. Access to the internet will make the sending and receiving of homework much easier too, though it is not essential.

Is previous creative writing experience required? No.

Are there any other costs? No.

Is there anything I need to bring? Your own writing materials – pens, paper, laptop etc.
