Working as a group or 1-2-1, I will guide, inspire and ensure you achieve your goals in a warm, supportive and encouraging way.

Group sessions or 1-2-1 coaching allows us to tailor our sessions towards whatever aspects you wish to improve and are necessary. From first idea to completed first draft to getting your manuscript ready for submission to literary agents and publishers, we can work on all the keystone aspects in an engaging, inspiring and fun way to ensure you achieve your desired results.

Those keystones aspects being: plot, structure, character development and backstories, pace, descriptions, locations, research, rising tension, drama and jeopardy (relevant, of course, to the genre), brainstorming, techniques for instilling the writing habit/work ethic to keep you as productive as possible, techniques for capturing and harnessing ideas which so often arrive at 3am (yes, for me too) ...

The list of aspects is, as we know, broad, yet I say that in a positive, exciting way, as, once we begin working on them, they start to entwine and deliver the richness and depth to our work that we desire.

I work with a large number of students - predominantly via Zoom - to ensure:

a) you achieve your writing goals

b) you maintain your writing momentum

c) you grow, develop and reach your potential as a writer

And, by working with me ...

d) you factor in accountability (i.e., just a recommended (not strict) weekly/fortnightly deadline by which to send in your latest work for critiquing); so beneficial for achieving our daily/weekly word count and building that all-important momentum to make your project happen.

Suitability?

These sessions are perfect for writers of all abilities - beginners, intermediates, seasoned writers looking for a fresh injection of inspiration. And they work equally well for writers of novels and short stories of all genres.

How flexible are the sessions?

My schedule is flexible by design and students often vary their slots each week, though others stick to a fixed weekly time. It’s designed to be easy going, relaxed, fun (in that frame of mind, we produce our best work) whilst being focused on the goals you will be hiring me to deliver.

How much does it cost?

Ten x 1 hour sessions @ £12 each totals £120

How do I pay? Via PayPal so you have full customer protection. Alternative payment options available upon request.

How long do my credits last for? Six months from the date of booking

What are the advantages of 1-2-1 sessions?

100% focus on your work, as opposed to being in a group. There are, of course, wonderful advantages of being in a group (the sharing of ideas, experiences, and the inspiration of being in the company of fellow writers). However, via 1-2-1 coaching, students will see the most profound acceleration in both the development of their project and themselves as a writer.
